MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has officially denied reports claiming that talks are being organized in Munich between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, US. Vice President Joseph Biden, UN/Arab League special envoy Lakhdar Brahimi and leader of the national Syrian opposition coalition Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib.
"Reports that talks are being prepared in Munich between Lavrov, Biden, Brahimi and a Syrian opposition representative are untrue," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov tweeted on Friday.
"No such meetings figure on the foreign minister's program for now," Gatilov said.
Western media earlier reported, citing sources in the National Syrian Opposition Coalition, that talks between Lavrov, Biden, Brahimi and al-Khatib could be held on the sidelines of the Munich security conference.
