MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Russia has no information that North Korea has prepared a testing ground for the next nuclear test, the Russian Foreign Ministry's charge d'affairs Grigory Logvinov told Interfax on Friday.
"According to information received from various countries and relevant international establishments in charge of nuclear non-proliferation, the testing ground [for the nuclear test] is indeed ready," Logvinov said.
"However, we really do not have the information on whether this testing ground is ready. And I doubt that anyone else besides the North Koreans has this information," the Russian diplomat said, commenting on the media reports that North Korea may conduct a nuclear test in the near future.
Responding to the recent media reports stating that North Korea has made a political decision to conduct a nuclear test, Logvinov said: "We do not comment on various hypothetical speculations. We use official information that we have, and therefore we are not talking about any secret decisions."
At the same time, the source said: "We have official information that a meeting between the heads of the law enforcement agencies chaired by Kim Jong Un was held on January 26, which makes it possible to draw specific conclusions."
The Chunan Ilbo newspaper reported earlier, citing informed South Korean sources, that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had issued a secret order to complete preparations for a nuclear test and conduct this test in the near future.
