CSTO will not play role in subduing unrest - Bordyuzha

MINSK. Feb 1 (Interfax) - The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will not be an instrument in dealing with inner political problems in the member states, CSTO General Secretary Nikolai Bordyuzha said in a video linkup between Moscow, Minsk, Kyiv, Astana and Yerevan on the organization's performance in 2012.

"We are departing from police functions. The CSTO leadership has never entertained the idea of playing a role in subduing mass disturbances or tackling internal political problems in the member-states," Bordyuzha said.
