MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Shortly after a Zenit-3SL launch vehicle lifted off from the sea-based Odyssey launch platform in the Pacific Ocean at 10:56 a.m. Moscow time Friday, it fell about 4 kilometers away from the platform, the company Sea Launch reported on its website on Saturday.
Nobody was injured in the incident, as the launch team was on board the Sea Launch Commander command ship five kilometers away from the Odyssey on the side opposite to the launch direction.
The Odyssey launch platform and the Commander command ship were not damaged, it said.
"A search effort conducted on February 1st from the Sea Launch Commander-based helicopter identified no recoverable debris," it said.
