MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Participants in a meeting of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will discuss interaction in the energy, transportation, and banking sectors at a meeting in Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told journalists.
The 10th meeting of the commission is scheduled for February 11-12; the Iranian delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and the Russian by Energy Minister Alexander Novak, he said.
"It is planned to discuss key areas of economic interaction, including in the energy, transportation, and banking sectors," he said.
The participants will sign a protocol summing up the meeting's outcomes.
Iranian Ambassador to Russia Seyed Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi said at a Wednesday press conference that Salehi would come to Moscow next week to take part in the 10th meeting of the trade and economic cooperation commission on February 11-12.
"Luckily, Russia did not support unilateral economic sanctions against Iran [imposed by the U.S. and the European Union]. Russia backed the UN Security Council sanctions concerning nuclear and military matters, but did not support the others," Sajjadi said.
