MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - unknown individuals shot and killed a district police officer in the Levoshinsky district of Dagestan on Thursday evening, a source in the law enforcement agencies told Interfax.
"Captain Alimirzuyev, a local district policeman, was shot in the back while entering his house in the village of Khadzhalmakhi at 9:15 p.m. He died on his way to hospital," the source said.
It is currently unknown how many attackers attacked the policemen and what weapons they used, the source said. The police are now looking for the attackers.
The press service for the Interior Ministry's Department for Dagestan has confirmed the killing of the police officer.
