BANGALORE. Feb 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Irkut Corporation plans to deliver 18 of 42 Sukhoi-30MKI kits to India by June 2013 under a licensed production contract, Irkut's Military Aircraft Vice President Vitaly Borodich told Interfax-AVN at an air show in Bangalore on Friday.
"Two kits were delivered in January 2013 under Phase II of the contract. We are delivering six kits in February and ten others under various phases by the middle of 2013," he said.
The earlier agreement with India on the licensed production of 140 Sukhoi Su-30MKI planes is being implemented, he said.
"The plan for the licensed production of 140 planes has not been fulfilled yet. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. is in the fourth phase of the contract and plans to make about 15 planes each month," he said.
Irkut Corporation has sent blueprints to India allowing aircraft assembly under the fourth phase arrangements, not of ready-made components, he added.
"We are supplying planes exclusively for Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. by decision of the Indian government," Borodich said.
