Armenia says its soldier killed by gunfire from Azerbaijan's side

YEREVAN. Feb 11 (Interfax) - A serviceman of the Armenian armed forces has been killed by gunfire from Azerbaijan's side, the Armenian Defense Ministry has reported.

"Mger Yegshatian, 37, a contract serviceman, suffered a fatal gunshot wound, presumably caused by gunfire from the enemy's side, while on combat duty at the northeastern section of the Armenian-Azeri border on the morning of February 9," the ministry said.

An investigation has been opened into the incident.
