Caches of explosives found in Nalchik

NALCHIK. Feb 11 (Interfax) - Two caches of explosives and ammunition have been found in Nalchik.

"A ten-liter plastic keg was found underground 75 meters away from the motorway on Shogenov Street," the Kabardino-Balkaria Interior Ministry reported on Sunday.

The keg contained a bomb made of a TNT stick, metal balls and a cell phone detonator, the police said.

An RGD-5 grenade, a PM handgun cartridge clip, plastic explosives and 64 pieces of ammunition were stored in the keg together with the outlawed book titled "Fortress of the Muslim", the "Mujahideen Bomber Manual" with a handmade bomb scheme and "The Address to Residents of Kabardino-Balkaria with Regard to Code of Conduct in Zones of Hostilities."

The police said the cache belonged to a federally-wanted militant who was killed in a special operation on January 20.

Also, a black plastic bag containing three TNT sticks with a total weight of 600 grams and 50 pieces of ammunition, including 49 Kalashnikov submachine gun shells, was found under a tree on Keshokov Street in Nalchik, 100 meters away from a pedestrian bridge.
