MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian arms export agency Rosoboronexport has not shipped Iskander missile systems or other offensive weapons to Syria, Rosoboronexport General Director Anatoly Isaikin said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
"There have been no Iskanders on Syrian territory. And there are no contracts for supplies of offensive weapons," he said.
"This is absolute nonsense," Isaikin said in commenting on foreign media reports alleging that Russia is selling offensive weapons to Syria.
He also denied reports that Russia is supposed to ship $1 billion worth of weapons and military hardware to Syria. "This is absolutely untrue," he said.
"I won't tell you the aggregate figure, but Syria is on the 12th or 13th position on the list of Rosoboronexport's shipment destinations," he said.
