MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Participants in a scientific and practical conference that will take place in Moscow on February 14 will discuss threats and challenges to Russia's military security, the Science 21 foundation for assisting security studies reported.
"The goal of the conference is to analyze present day challenges and threats to Russia's military security, to define their sources and reasons, as well as possible ways to neutralize them," the Science 21 foundation said in a statement obtained by Interfax.
Russia's Federation Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will speak at the conference, Federation Council defense and security committee chairman Viktor Ozerov said earlier.
Russian Chief of Staff Col. Gen. Valery Gerasimov will make a report on the present day state of the Russian army and fleet and the country's defense capacity and threats to Russia's military security.
Academy of Military Sciences President Army General Makhmut Gareyev, United Aircraft Corporation President Mikhail Pogosyan and the chief of Military Academy are also expected to speak at the conference.
