MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - UN Security Council measures in relation to Syria will be immediately used for interference in the conflict from the outside, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"It should be absolutely clear: any Security Council measure will be used immediately by those who would like to provoke interference from the outside," Lavrov said in a documentary on Syria shown on Germany's ARD television.
The Syrian opposition is not consolidated, Lavrov said. "The opposition is not consolidated. It is acting against the government simultaneously with several terrorist groups. One of these groups has been recognized by the U.S. as terrorist, which has drawn protests from the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces," Lavrov said.
Priority number one in resolving the Syrian crisis should be the absence of any objections, claims or preconditions, Lavrov said. "If our priority is to save human lives, we should say now: stop the combat actions without any preconditions," he said.
