MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has held talks by telephone with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, discussing prospects for a personal meeting, as well as Syrian settlement and the situation surrounding North Korea.
"Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held telephone talks on February 17 with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry. The Russian and U.S. top foreign policy officials exchanged views on the Syrian settlement in the context of the necessity to end the violence on all sides and to start dialogue between the government and opposition," the Russian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department said.
