Meteorite does not disrupt communication, energy, transport - ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - There has been no breakdown of communication, energy and transport infrastructure in the Kurgan, Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions where meteorite debris fell, a source at the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry information department told Interfax.

"Examinations showed that radiation levels are normal and energy, communication and transport infrastructure operates regularly in these regions," he said.

Meanwhile, mobile phone operators reported a surge in phone calls.
