MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Moscow investigators have filed a request with a court for arresting Saratov businessman Sergei Kabalov, 54, on suspicion of making an attempt to hijack a plane bound for Egypt.
"Kabalov has been entered on the federal wanted list. After a request is referred to the court on Monday for his detention, he will be declared internationally wanted," a source in the Moscow Investigative Department for the air and water transport, told Interfax on Sunday.
A compliant was filed by Kogalymavia Airways with police at Domodedovo Airport on January 12 that a drunken passenger on a flight from Moscow to Hurghada had punched a flight attended ant used obscene language.
"Police have questioned witnesses. After Kabalov returns from Egypt he will be quizzed to clarify the circumstances of the alleged incident. Whether or not he will be prosecuted will depend on the results of the inquiry," the Interior Ministry said.
