IRKUTSK. Feb 18 (Interfax) - More than 5.5 kilograms of heroin have been seized from a resident of the Angarsk district in the Irkutsk region, the regional department of the Federal Drug Control Service reports.
"A Gypsy had been caught carrying 500 grams of heroin. More than five kilograms of heroin were seized in further investigative procedures," the report said.
The heroin had high purity.
"Retail dealers would have increased the drug weight several times with various additives. Revenues would have grown accordingly," the report said.
"The detainee had caught police attention before. He was unemployed, but looked quite well off," it said.
The man was charged with storing large amounts of narcotics. The maximum pentalty is 15 years in jail.
