TBILISI. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The Georgian government is working towards restoration of economic and cultural relations with Russia, Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a congress of his party, Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia, on Saturday.
"First steps have been taken to bring Georgian products to the Russian market, which is very important for our people. Georgia should become a place of concord rather than confrontation and we will seek to make Georgia a place of political accord between the West and the East," he said.
Ivanishvili stressed that the Georgian foreign policy remained invariable and targeted rapprochement with Europe.
"This historic goal requires Georgia's entry into the European Union and NATO, and our government unwaveringly supports this course. We are grateful to the U.S. government for supporting us," he said.
