Body of murdered Lipetsk legislature deputy discovered in barrel of cement in Moscow region (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The remains of murdered Lipetsk city legislature member Mikhail Pakhomov have been discovered in Moscow region, the Investigative Committee of Russia has announced.

"It can be claimed that the remains discovered in the area of Obukhovo, Noginsk district, truly belong to Pakhomov. The nature of the injures permits the conclusion that he was murdered," Interfax was told at the Investigative Committee on Monday.

A committee representative said that several expert studies have been ordered in relation to the investigation of Pakhomov's murder.

He said that Pakhomov's body was discovered in a barrel of cement.

Earlier a source in law enforcement told Interfax that a male body was discovered in a barrel of cement in the Moscow region.

The source said that on Sunday evening operatives and investigators in the process of an operative effort discovered a barrel of cement containing human remains in a garage owned by a resident of Elektrougli, a town in the Noginsk district. The police indentified the owner of the garage.

On Sunday the Interior Ministry press center reported that its Criminal Investigation Department and Lipetsk operatives established that Pakhomov had been murdered and they identified the scene of the crime.

"The Criminal Investigation Department and Lipetsk operatives have established that Pakhomov was killed. He was found dead in Posyolok Vorovskogo near Moscow," the Interior Ministry said on its website.

Police found out in a round-the-clock search operation that the deputy could have been abducted by a criminal group. Five suspects were identified. They are young people aged from 24 to 30. All of them have been detained on abduction charges, the Interior Ministry said.
