MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The second plane of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry carrying humanitarian aid to Syria has departed from the Ramenskoye airfield near Moscow, a ministry source told Interfax on Tuesday.
"An Ilyushin Il-76 plane departed to the Syrian city of Latakia at 10:05 a.m. Moscow time. It is carrying humanitarian aid to residents of the Arab republic," he said.
Earlier in the day the ministry sent an Ilyushin Il-62 jet on a humanitarian mission to Syria.
Both jets will bring about 46 tons of humanitarian supplies.
They will take aboard Russians wishing to leave Syria on the return trip.
