Some countries drafting stricter sanctions against N. Korea - Russian foreign ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Some countries are drafting a resolution of the UN Security Council on sanctions against North Korea, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov.

"We have learned that some countries are drafting a resolution that would propose tougher sanctions," Gatilov said at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

However, it would be premature to speculate on what measures will be proposed, he said.

"The countries concerned are just beginning consultations. Naturally, we have been in contact with our Chinese partners," Gatilov said.
