LATAKIA, Syria. Feb 20 (Interfax) - A Russian government spokeswoman said on Tuesday evening that 99 nationals of Russia and other former Soviet republics, including 29 women and 38 children, are currently on board an aircraft flying to Moscow from Syria.
The Ilyushin Il-62 jet belonging to the ministry, took off from Latakia and is heading for Domodedovo Airport, Russian Emergency Situations Ministry spokeswoman, Irina Rossius told Interfax.
Earlier in the day, two of the ministry's aircraft delivered more than 46 tonnes of humanitarian relief to Syria. The cargo included 10-kilowatt electricity generators, tents, blankets, beds, canned fish and sugar.
