MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Ministry envoy on human rights, democracy, and supremacy of law Konstantin Dolgov has discussed the issue of human trafficking with U.S. State Department Ambassador Luis CdeBaca, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
"K. Dolgov has expressed the hope that the Russian part of the U.S. State Department report on human trafficking, which is to be released soon, will be based on unbiased approach and real facts, unlike previous years," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Dolgov said that such position would encourage interaction between Russia and the United State on human trafficking.
CdeBaca has praised the efforts Russia was making to fight human trafficking.
"Regardless of the U.S. decision to leave the working group on civil society of the Russian-American presidential commission, the openness to contacts with American colleagues was expressed, including the assistance of non-governmental organizations," the ministry said.
