KYIV. Feb 25 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Defense Ministry is interested in finishing the construction of Antonov An-70 aircarft and their delivery to the Ukrainian armed forces, said Defense Minister Pavlo Lebedev.
"We are interested in the completion of the project to build these aircarft and their delivery to the armed forces," he told Ukrainian reporters in Brussels on Friday.
"The aircraft's transfer to the Russian side is not being considered," he said.
Reports said earlier that cooperation between Ukraine and Russia in developing a medium-range short take-off transport aircarft, An-70, ranks among the key projects of the two countries aircraft construction industries. The program is being implemented with the participation of the Ukrainian and Russian defense ministries.
