MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Airborne Forces command is interacting with leading research institutes in a prospective helicopter project, Airborne Forces Commander Col. Gen. Vladimir Shamanov told a Monday press conference in Moscow.
"It should be a fold-rotor medium-sized helicopter with powerful armaments and a range of operation from ten to 70 kilometers," he said.
The prospective helicopter will have simple controls and a low cost, the commander added.
Besides, the Airborne Forces need unmanned aircraft to operate in the enemy rear.
"We are actively searching for and cooperating with many companies to provide our forces with reconnaissance and assault drones," he said.
