MAKHACHKALA. Feb 26 (Interfax-AVN) - No one was killed or injured when a police unit came under fire in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan in Russia's North Caucasus, on Monday evening, a spokesman for the republic's Interior Ministry told Interfax.
The attack was staged on the city's Akushinsky Avenue at around 9:20 p.m., the spokesman said.
"Unknown persons opened fire on a police car. No one was killed or injured. The policemen fired back, but the attackers managed to escape. A search operation is under way," he said.
