Roscosmos set to bolster Sea Launch economic efficiency

LYTKARINO, Moscow region. Feb 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The government has ordered Roscosmos to find a way to prevent Sea Launch bankruptcy and bolster economic efficiency of the international project, Military-Industrial Commission First Deputy Chairman Ivan Kharchenko told reporters on Tuesday.

"Roscosmos will analyze data and suggest how to make this venture efficient and self-sustaining and to prevent its bankruptcy," he said.

In his words, the instruction was given "a couple of days ago." "The report will be ready by the second half of March," Kharchenko said.

Roscosmos will scrutinize financial and economic performance of the international venture 95% of which is controlled by Energia's subsidiary. Russia bears responsibility for space activity of its enterprises under international agreements.
