Tbilisi expects Georgian-Russian meeting in Prague to produce results

TBILISI. March 1 (Interfax) - Georgian Foreign Minister Maja Panjikidze has said she is hopeful that a meeting in Prague on Friday between Georgian Special Envoy for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin will be "constructive and fruitful".

"I hope that this meeting will add clarity to some issues. Its topics include Georgian athletes' participation in the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Sochi," Panjikidze told journalists on Friday.

Abashidze and Karasin held their first meeting in Geneva in December 2012.

Abashidze told Interfax ahead of the visit to Prague that the agenda for his meeting with Karasin included the possibility of resuming regular Georgia-Russia flights and re-opening the Verkhny Lars border crossing point to traffic.
