Friends of Syria group provokes further violence in country - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Decisions adopted by the Friends of Syria group in Rome could encourage extremists to seize power in the country by force, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement, which was posted on the ministry's website on Friday.

"Judging by incoming reports, the letter and the spirit of decisions adopted in Rome and the statements made there encourage extremists to seize power by force, ignoring the inevitable suffering it will cause to ordinary Syrians," he said.
