U.S.-sponsored UN SC resolution on N. Korea is ready - Russia's envoy to UN

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - The U.S. prepared a UN Security Council resolution on the recent nuclear test by North Korea, but the document has yet to be discussed with Russia, Russia's envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin said.

"The U.S. has already drawn up a resolution, but they are now rushing to involve Russia in the discussion," Churkin said in an interview with Russia Today.

The diplomat recalled that Russia expressed its readiness to respond to the nuclear test appropriately in the form of a UN Security Council resolution immediately after the test was conducted.
