VLADIKAVKAZ. March 4 (Interfax) - The regulations of a counterterrorist operation have been introduced in three villages of Prigorodny district of North Ossetia, Interfax was told at the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the republic.
"The counterterrorist operation has been launched in the villages of Tarskoye, Verkhny Komgaron and Nizhny Komgaron and surrounding woodlands as of 6 a.m. on Monday," a press officer said.
He said the special regulations were introduced to prevent possible terrorist acts, minimize their effects, protect strategic facilities in line with the federal law on resisting terrorism and under a resolution of the head of operational headquarters in North Ossetia.
The special regulations imply temporary restrictions: ID checks, body checks, the inspection of personal belongings and vehicles and some other measures provided by law.
"We insistently request the public to remain calm and not to permit panic, disorder or interference in the actions of law enforcement bodies," the press officer added.
