MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - During a counterterrorist operation in Dagestan, law enforcement officers discovered a hastily deserted militant camp with several home-made bombs ready for use.
"Three home-made explosive devices equivalent to some 10 kilos of TNT, ammunition, various gear and food were discovered," Interfax was told at the information center of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
A NAC representative said the bombs were discovered in a dugout at a camp of the Khasavyurt militant group near the village of Mogilevskoye.
The dugout was destroyed together with the home-made bombs. The search for the militants continues.
NAC believes that the discovery of the winter base of the militants permitted averting several planned terrorist attacks on the population and law enforcement in Dagestan.
