MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - The Federal Penitentiary Service will use electronic tagging to control the compliance with house arrest rules by Yevgeniya Vasilyeva, a suspect in the Oboronservice embezzlement case, and opposition activists Konstantin Lebedev and Sergei Udaltsov charged with preparations for mass disturbances, service spokesperson Kristina Belousova told Interfax on Friday.
"Yevgeniya Vasilyeva and Konstantin Lebedev are wearing electronic bracelets," she said.
Sergei Udaltsov is also subjected to electronic tagging, she said.
The modern surveillance tools are being used under the Russian government resolution of February 18, 2013, on the procedure of electronic tagging of suspects.
"They upgrade the quality of surveillance," Belousova said.
Former head of the Defense Ministry's property department Vasilyeva is a suspect in the Oboronservice embezzlement.
Criminal charges against Left Front coordinator Udaltsov, his assistant Lebedev and Leonid Razvozzhayev, assistant to State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomaryov and Left Front activist, were brought on October 17, 2012, under the Criminal Code Article "Preparations to Organize Mass Disturbances."
