BAKU. March 11 (Interfax) - Police have broken up a unauthorized opposition youth march protesting military casualties in the center of Baku, an Interfax correspondent has reported.
Peace has been restored in Fountains Square, where protestors gathered.
The youth movement NIDA was among the organizers. Three of its members were arrested on Saturday on charges of inciting violence and civil disobedience in Sunday's rally.
Several dozen incendiary bottles, as well as drugs, leaflets and cash were seized during searches at the three activists' apartments.
A criminal case was started against them on counts of illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic substances and weapons.
According to law enforcement services, incendiary bottles were to be used during Sunday's rally against police in order to draw public attention.
