MAGADAN. March 11 (Interfax) - Officers from the department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for Magadan region together with their colleagues from Yakutia have stopped a channel of delivering a big batch of hard drugs to the region from Central Russia.
"A motor vehicle heading for Magadan region was stopped as a result of operative efforts in the territory of Yakutia. More than one kilo of heroin was discovered and seized in the process of examining the vehicle," press secretary of the regional department Marina Terentyeva told Interfax on Monday.
She added that a criminal case of drug trafficking was launched in relation to the seizure of drugs. Joint efforts continue to identify all the circumstances of the offense.
