MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Nikolai Vinnichenko, the nominee for deputy prosecutor general, will be responsible for several sectors, including the observance of the law at prisons and citizen complaint procedures, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General's Office Marina Gridneva told Interfax.

"Vinnichenko is expected to work at the central office of the Prosecutor General's Office and he will be responsible for the observance of the laws related to transport services, overseeing the penitentiary service and organizing the work to process citizens' letters and complaints," Gridneva said.

President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said earlier on Monday that Putin has freed Vinnichenko from his duties as envoy to the Northwestern Federal District.
