Two high-ranking customs officers suspected of attempted bribe

MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax) - Deputy head of the logistics and procurement service of the Russian Federal Customs Service's central customs department Sergei Vostrikov and finance and accounting service head Tatiana Ignatova have been charged with attempted bribery, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.

He said the department had been examined by Audit Chamber auditors.

Detectives suspect Vostrikov and Ignatova of conspiring to "bribe [the auditors] so that they do not mention violations in the inspection report," he said.
