TBILISI. March 13 (Interfax) - Georgian Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani has accused President Mikheil Saakashvili of not endorsing the appointment of 19 ambassadors to foreign countries on purpose, which, in her view, could be qualified as sabotage.
"President Saakashvili has still not signed a decree on appointing ambassadors to 19 strategically important countries, whom the parliament confirmed several weeks ago. This can be judged as sabotage in relation to his own country and his people," Tsulukiani told journalists on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze made similar comments earlier, saying that she could not understand "the president's actions, as all candidates for ambassadors had been nominated for parliamentary confirmation with his knowledge."
Panjikidze suggested that the delay in the presidential endorsement of the ambassadors "causes damage to Georgia's foreign policy."
