Court sides with prosecutor, cancels deal on Gulf of Finland concluded under Serdyukov

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The Presidium of the Russian Supreme Arbitrary Court has ruled in favor of a Western Military District (WMD) military prosecutor and has cancelled a deal between the Russian Defense Ministry and Transstroi company on the sale of the coastal strip (Galernii Farvater) in St. Petersburg, the WMD prosecutor's office said.

"The decision to sell the coastal strip has been taken by former Russian defense minister, Anatoly Serdyukov, on the suggestion of former property department head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Yevgenia Vasilyeva," the military prosecutor's office statement obtained by Interfax-AVN said.

"Under the Russian Criminal Procedure Code, materials on the officials of the Russian Defense Ministry have been sent to the main military investigative department," the statement said.
