Putin explained to Netanyahu why Russia shipping S-300 missiles to Syria - Kremlin spokesman

SOCHI. May 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu discussed the shipment of Russian S-300 air defense missile systems to Syria at their meeting earlier on Tuesday, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"The issue was raised. Russia presented its arguments, which are well known," Peskov told journalists when asked whether S-300 supplies to Syria had been discussed.

The Israeli side "heard these arguments," Peskov said.

In commenting on the talks between Putin and Netanyahu, Peskov said the meeting passed "well."

"Putin and Netanyahu developed very trusting relations quite a long time ago, and they had a very substantive dialogue, including on very sensitive issues, like security and exchange of information," he said.
