Next HeliRussia show to be held in May 2014 - organizers

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Organizers of the 6th international helicopter industry show, HeliRussia 2013, which ended in Moscow on May 18, are satisfied with preliminary results, Russian Helicopter Systems Holding PR Director Azad Karryyev told Interfax-AVN on Saturday.

"The exhibition has become a prominent event in the helicopter industry. We will sum up the results as soon as the show ends and immediately start preparing for HeliRussia 2014 to be held in Moscow next May consistent with the tradition," Karryyev said.

He also said Russian and foreign helicopter makers and operators took a keen interest in the show.

"The number of exhibitors grew this year. Companies from more than 20 countries put their products on display," Karryyev said.

In all, HeliRussia 2013 had about 200 Russian and foreign exhibitors.

A presentation of the Kolibri helicopter aerobatics team was held at the show on Saturday. The female team has been formed at the Russian Helicopter Systems Holding. Also, there was an award ceremony for best exhibitors on the last day of the show.

Earlier reports said the first heliport in Moscow and whole Russia opened on the show sidelines on the roof of a Crocus EXPO exhibition center pavilion to offer light passenger helicopter services.
