SEVASTOPOL. June 7 (Interfax-AVN) - The newly appointed deputy commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Rear Admiral Valery Kulikov, has started fulfilling his duties, Black Sea Fleet spokesman, Captain First Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev told Interfax-AVN on Friday.
"Rear Admiral Valery Kulikov has taken over as the fleet's deputy commander and started fulfilling his duties," Trukhachev said.
Kulikov was born in Zaporizhzhya on September 1 1956. He started his military career as a private in the border troops of the Trans-Caucasus Military District in 1974. He graduated from the Nakhimov Black Sea Naval Academy in 1980 and received an appointment to the Black Sea Fleet.
