Rosoboronexport prepares to sign Su-35, Ka-52 export contracts shortly

LE BOURGET, France. June 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Contracts may be signed shortly to export Sukhoi Su-35 fighters, Kamov Ka-52 "Alligator" combat helicopters and Yakovlev Yak-130 combat trainers displayed at the Paris Air Show opening on Monday.

"We are negotiating the delivery of all the three aircraft, which will perform display flights in Le Bourget; Yak-130 exports have already started and new contracts are coming up, but Ka-52 and Su-35 are being supplied to the Russian Armed Forces only. We have reached a stage at which the implementation of export contracts may start. We plan to conclude concrete agreements on these items," Rosoboronexport delegation head to the Paris Air Show, head of the department for exports of Air Force special-purpose hardware and services Sergei Kornev said in an interview with Interfax-AVN.

Alongside the appearance of the Su-35 fighter on the market, Rosoboronexport is continuing to actively promote Su-30MK jets.

"They are in big demand, especially as this platform has a high modernization potential. Russian industries are ready to modernize these fighters for carrying the newest weaponry," he said.

Much is being done to fulfill the contract with the U.S. government on the delivery of Mil Mi-17-V5 military transport helicopters for the Afghan army. Contracts have been signed with India on the additional Mil Mi-17-V5 delivery for the Defense Ministry and the Interior Ministry and semi-knocked down kits for licensed production of Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighters and AL-31FP engines.

"This is just a part of what has been done in the aviation segment since the beginning of this year. A number of rather large projects are still ahead," Kornev stressed.
