Seven Glonass satellites to be made in 2013-2014 - manufacturer

ZHELEZNOGORSK (Krasnoyarsk territory)/MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Information Satellite Systems will build seven Glonass satellites by the end of 2014, General Designer and Director Nikolai Testoyedov said.

"We will deliver two Glonass-M satellites to the Plesetsk Space Center within the next few months for solo launches in early September and late October. Five more Glonass-M satellites will be built in 2014," Testoyedov told Interfax-AVN on Monday.

The Glonass launch schedule was adjusted after the Proton-M rocket crash on July 2, in which three Glonass-M satellites were lost, he said.

"There is no doubt we will meet the satellite production target but the launch schedule will depend on the status of the Glonass cluster. The Russian Defense Ministry and Roscosmos will make decisions with regard to the launches," Testoyedov said.
