Moskva cruiser holds missile fire exercises in Atlantic Ocean

MOSCOW. July 19(Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Black Sea Fleet Moskva guard missile cruiser held a cruise missile fire exercise in the Atlantic Ocean, fleet spokesman Captain 1st Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev said.

"The cruise missile hit the seaborne target. A Kamov Ka-27 PS helicopter confirmed the successful shooting," he told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

The Osa anti-aircraft missile launcher crew and ship artillery crews also practiced firing at an airborne target.

Meanwhile, North Fleet spokesman Captain 1st Rank Vadim Serga reported preparations of the Vice-Admiral Kulakov large anti-submarine ship for a trans-Atlantic voyage within a Russian inter-fleet naval group formed in the Eastern Atlantic on Wednesday.

"The crew of the large anti-submarine ship of the North Fleet has also had survivability training and practiced operations in stormy weather," Serga said.

The inter-fleet naval force comprising the Moskva, the Vice-Admiral Kulakov and support vessels continues its oceanic mission.
