NOVO-OGARYOVO. July 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The delay in the supply of combat ships to the Russian Navy is the Russian shipbuilding industry's problem, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.
"Another acute problem is the delay in the supply of new ships and weapons to the Navy. There are various reasons for this. However, the main reasons are the inefficient interaction between state contractors and defense industry organizations, delays in the supply of parts by related enterprises, the lack of proper cooperation between production and design organizations, and the low quality of the equipment supplied. I must say this frankly," Putin said at a meeting on the prospects of development of the Russian Navy and the fulfillment of the state armaments program for 2020 regarding naval equipment.
Speaking about the low quality of shipbuilding products, Putin said: "I have been told that equipment failed 132 times over the course of the construction of a ship." "It's very bad," the president said.
