Foreign specialists help Russia win Berezovsky's assets in Serbia - source

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Foreign colleagues and lawyers helped Russian law enforcement officers find and seize the assets of late businessman Boris Berezovsky in Serbia, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax on Tuesday.

"A British law firm dealing with bankruptcy issues also claimed those enterprises. But foreign legal experts helped Russia prove in the Belgrade court that the money was stolen from the Russian Aeroflot airline and laundered in the Balkans," the source said.

Russian law enforcement agencies had to be well prepared for their search for the late businessman's assets, he added.

Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Zvyagintsev said earlier today that a Belgrade court had seized seven enterprises of late businessman Boris Berezovsky valued at approximately 9 billion rubles at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.
