Senior Ingush prosecutor detained on suspicion of committing armed attack on civilians (Part 2)

NAZRAN. Aug 26 (Interfax) - A senior Ingush prosecutor has been detained on suspicion of involvement in an armed attack on two local civilians on August 22, an Ingush law enforcement source told Interfax.

"Prosecution official Adam Uzhakhov and one more local resident have been detained on suspicion of committing this crime," the source said.

The detainees are currently being subjected to investigative procedures, he said.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee reported that Ingush investigators had detained suspects in a criminal case on charges of an attempt on the lives of two or more people and illegal storage, transportation or carrying of weapons.

"As a result of wisely planned investigative actions and operations, a 34-year-old senior prosecutor from the Ingush prosecutor's office and 23-year-old Abubakar Uzhakhov have been detained on suspicion of committing this crime," it said.

It was reported earlier that the Investigative Committee department for Ingushetia opened a criminal case into an attack on a man and a woman in central Nazran, in which the victims suffered gunshot wounds and were hospitalized.

The attackers fled from the scene. The incident occurred near a private house on Suvorov Street on August 22.
