UN inspectors come under sniper attack in Syria (Part 2)

NEW YORK. Aug 26 (Interfax) - A motor vehicle carrying UN inspectors has fallen victim of a sniper attack in Syria, a UN spokesman said in a statement on Monday.

The inspectors will switch to another motor vehicle and then return to the region, he said.

No further details were provided.

Reports emerged on Wednesday that chemical weapons were used in the Guta neighborhood near Damascus.

A group of UN inspectors were officially granted permission to travel to the scene in order to investigate. They set out for Guta on Monday.
