GENEVA. Sept 13 (Interfax) - UN and Arab League Special Representative on Syria Lahdar Brahimi is hoping for a successful solution to the issue of Syrian chemical weapons, which will open up the way to holding the Geneva-2 peace conference.
"We are looking forward to the issue of Syrian chemical weapons being resolved. It's very important in itself," Brahimi said after a three-party meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Geneva on Friday.
"It's very important to us, who work together for the successful organization of the Geneva-2 conference," Brahimi said.
"Our negotiations were useful today," he said.
