VALDAI. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin believes it is not correct to speak about what Russia will do if the Syrian government fails to fulfill the obligations on chemical disarmament it has assumed.
"I believe it is incorrect to speak now about what we will do if the Syrian government fails to fulfill its promises," Putin said at the discussion club Valdai.
Putin recalled that "Syria has already joined the convention on the non-proliferation of chemical weapons." "We currently have no reason to believe that they will not fulfill their obligations. If they don't, we will consider this issue, but it's premature to speak about that," he said.
